Why Karma Yoga

What makes this different from a gym class?

Four things, and none of them are equipment. A room small enough for your name to be used, a teacher who is a woman, postures adapted to the body you have today, and a practice built around what you actually came in with.

Personal attention and posture correction

Ritika walks the room in every single class. If your knee is collapsing inward in Virabhadrasana or your lower back is doing the work your hips should be doing, she tells you — by name, in the moment. This is the single thing students mention most often in their Google reviews, and it is only possible because the batch is small.

A female instructor, every class

Most well-known yoga studios in Jaipur are built around a male teacher. Here, a woman teaches every batch. For students who want to ask about periods, pregnancy, PCOS or postnatal recovery without an awkward pause, that changes the whole conversation — and it is why the ladies-only batch fills up first.

Batches of eight to twelve

Nobody hides at the back. A small batch means Ritika knows which of your shoulders is stiffer, remembers that you had a C-section eight months ago, and can hand you a bolster before you have to ask for it. Larger halls simply cannot do this, whatever the fee is.

Therapy-informed practice for real concerns

Most students arrive carrying something: a stiff lower back, cervical pain from a desk, knees that complain on stairs, a thyroid report, PCOS. Ritika builds a version of each posture around it. Yoga here is complementary to your doctor's care, never a substitute for it — and she will say so plainly if a posture is not right for you.

Classes

Which yoga class should you join?

Six batches run out of the Mansarovar studio, plus corporate, home and online sessions across Jaipur. Most beginners start with hatha yoga. If you are not sure, come to a free trial and Ritika will tell you honestly which batch suits you.

Benefits of Yoga

What actually changes when you practise regularly?

Not everything, and not in a week. What students at this studio usually notice first is sleep — falling asleep faster within about three weeks of practising four days a week. Then stiffness: getting out of bed stops being an event. Somewhere around the second month, posture starts holding itself without you thinking about it, and the afternoon slump softens.

The slower changes are the ones worth staying for. Strength in the muscles that hold your spine. Breath that lengthens instead of catching. A steadier response to the ordinary stress of a working day. We have written all of it out honestly — including what yoga does not do.

About the teacher

Who teaches your class?

Ritika Khandelwal teaches every batch herself. She is CERT_PLACEHOLDER certified and has taught 500+ students in Mansarovar over 5+ years.

There is no rotating panel of instructors here and no substitute teacher you have never met. That continuity is the point: Ritika remembers which shoulder you injured, how far along your pregnancy is, and that stairs are the hard part of your day. She teaches in Hindi and English, switching mid-sentence when that is what makes a cue land.

Her work leans towards students that other classes tend to hurry along — women through pregnancy and postnatal recovery, people managing PCOS or thyroid reports, and older students who were told to “just do some yoga” and had no idea where to start.
