Getting started

If you have never set foot in a yoga class, start here.

How do I join a yoga class at Karma Yoga?

Message on WhatsApp or send the form on the contact page with your name, mobile number and the batch timing that suits you. Ritika replies within one working day, confirms which batch has space, and books you in for a free trial class.

There is nothing to pay until after that trial.

Is the first class really free?

Yes. One full class, in any batch, with no card details, no registration fee and no obligation to continue. You practise the whole session, not a trimmed demo version of it.

I have never done yoga before. Will I be able to keep up?

Yes, because you will be given an easier version of anything that does not suit you yet. The batch is eight to twelve people, so Ritika can adjust a posture for one person without stopping the class.

Complete beginners usually start in the hatha yoga batch and move on only if they want to.

Do I need to be flexible before I start?

No. Flexibility is a result of practising, not a requirement for starting. Most people cannot touch their toes on day one, and props such as blocks and straps exist precisely so you can practise properly while your range improves.

What should I wear and bring?

Loose clothing you can bend and sit cross-legged in, and a water bottle. Come on an empty stomach — two to three hours after a meal.

Mats, blocks, straps, bolsters and blankets are all provided, so there is nothing to buy before you begin.

Classes & batches

Timings, batch sizes and who each session is built for.

What are the batch timings?

Morning batches run from 6:00 AM and evening batches from 5:00 PM, Monday to Saturday. Sunday is a rest day.

  • 6:00 – 7:00 AM · Hatha Yoga · Mon–Sat
  • 7:15 – 8:15 AM · Power Yoga · Mon, Wed, Fri
  • 10:00 – 11:00 AM · Ladies-Only Yoga · Mon–Sat
  • 11:15 AM – 12:00 PM · Prenatal Yoga · Tue, Thu, Sat
  • 5:00 – 6:00 PM · Hatha Yoga · Mon–Sat
  • 6:30 – 7:30 PM · Meditation & Pranayama / Kids Yoga

The schedule page has the full weekly grid.

How many people are in a batch?

Eight to twelve. That cap is deliberate — it is what makes individual posture correction possible, and it is the thing students mention most often in their Google reviews.

How long is a class?

Sixty minutes for hatha, power yoga and the ladies-only batch. Forty-five minutes for prenatal, kids and the meditation and pranayama session. Arrive five minutes early so you can settle before it starts.

Can I switch batches if my timings change?

Yes, subject to space in the batch you want to move to. Tell Ritika a day or two ahead so she can check the numbers. Students on quarterly and half-yearly plans switch most freely.

Do you have a ladies-only batch?

Yes — 10:00 to 11:00 AM, Monday to Saturday, women only, taught by Ritika Khandelwal, a female instructor. It is the batch that fills first.

Women who prefer not to practise in a mixed room at all can also ask about a home or one-to-one session. More detail is on the ladies-only yoga page.

Do you teach children and older students?

Yes. Kids yoga runs for ages 7 to 14 in the evening slot on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Senior students are welcome in any batch, and chair-supported, joint-friendly variations are standard rather than special requests.

See the kids and senior yoga page.

Fees & payment

Published openly, because almost nobody in Jaipur does.

How much do yoga classes cost in Mansarovar?

Every current fee is published on the fees page — monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and personal or home sessions, with no joining fee and no hidden charges.

Almost no studio in Jaipur publishes its rates. We do, so you can compare before you visit.

How do I pay?

Cash, UPI or bank transfer, whichever is easiest for you. Fees are paid at the start of your plan period and a receipt is given for every payment.

Is there a joining or registration fee?

No. You pay for the plan you choose and nothing else. There is no admission fee, no mat charge and no annual membership.

What if I travel and miss classes?

Tell Ritika in advance and your plan can usually be held for the period you are away, rather than simply lapsing. The exact number of holds depends on the plan you are on — the fees page lists it.

4 questions

Health & safety

Yoga here is complementary to medical care, never a replacement for it.

Can I do yoga with back pain, knee pain or a cervical problem?

In many cases yes, but speak to your doctor first and tell Ritika before class what the issue is and where it hurts. She will give you an adapted version of the sequence and leave out anything unsuitable.

There are detailed pages on yoga for back pain, knee pain and arthritis and cervical and neck pain.

Can I practise yoga during pregnancy?

Only with your doctor's or gynaecologist's clearance, and in the prenatal batch rather than a general one. Prenatal sessions run Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, are adapted trimester by trimester, and use bolsters and blocks throughout.

Postnatal students are usually advised to wait until they have been cleared at their follow-up appointment. See prenatal and postnatal yoga.

I have high blood pressure or a thyroid condition. Is that a problem?

It is not automatically a problem, but it does change what you practise. Inversions, long breath retentions and rapid kapalbhati are usually left out for uncontrolled high blood pressure, for example.

Bring your doctor's advice, keep taking your prescribed medication, and tell Ritika before you start. See yoga for thyroid and yoga for diabetes and blood pressure.

Can yoga replace my medicine or my doctor's treatment?

No, and nobody at this studio will tell you otherwise. Yoga is a complementary practice that may help you manage day-to-day symptoms, mobility, stress and sleep.

Keep taking what your doctor has prescribed and keep your appointments.

Home, online & corporate

For students who cannot get to Agarwal Farm six days a week.

Do you take yoga classes at home?

Yes. Ritika travels to homes across Mansarovar, Agarwal Farm, Shipra Path, SFS Mansarovar, Jhalana Chhod and nearby areas of Jaipur.

Home sessions are one-to-one or small family groups, and timings are agreed with you rather than fixed to the studio timetable.

Do you teach online?

Yes, live over video — not pre-recorded sessions. Online works well if you are outside Jaipur or travelling.

Ritika still corrects your posture, so keep your camera on and set your device so your whole mat is visible. See online and home yoga.

Do you run corporate yoga sessions for offices?

Yes, at your office anywhere in Jaipur. Sessions run 30 to 60 minutes, are designed to be done in ordinary work clothes, and focus on the neck, shoulders and lower back that desk work affects most.

Call or WhatsApp +91-7424991400 for a quote, or read the corporate yoga page.
