Hatha Yoga
Classical postures held with steady breath. The slowest group batch and the one almost everybody starts in.
Class types
Eight class types, one teacher. Whether you want to move fast, move gently, or barely move at all and just learn to breathe, there is a slot here that fits — and you can try it before you pay for anything.
Pick by what your body needs this month, not by what sounds impressive. If you are new, stiff, or coming back after a long gap, start with hatha. If your goal is weight management and stamina, power yoga. If you want a room with no men in it, the ladies-only batch. Everything else — prenatal, kids, seniors, corporate, online — exists because a specific group of students asked for it.
You are not locked in. One monthly membership covers the studio rather than a single batch, so people routinely start in hatha, add the evening pranayama slot when exam season or work pressure hits, and drift back. Ritika teaches every batch herself, so whichever one you walk into, the same person knows your knee, your neck and your history.
The filter below narrows the eight class types down to the ones that match how you want to practise. Under it there is a side-by-side comparison of intensity and who each class actually suits. If you are here because of a specific concern — back pain, PCOS, thyroid, knee discomfort — read yoga for health conditions first, then come back and pick the batch it points you to.

Side by side
Intensity is rated relative to the other batches here, not to a gym. Even the “high” row is scalable — Ritika gives a lower-effort version of every posture on request.
| Class style | Intensity | Best for | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hatha Yoga | Low to moderate | Flexibility, posture, a calm start to the day | Complete beginners, anyone returning after a break, students with stiff hips and shoulders |
| Power Yoga | High | Stamina, strength, weight management | People already comfortable with basic postures who want to work hard and sweat |
| Ladies-Only Yoga | Low to moderate | Practising privately, cycle-aware pacing | Women who want a female instructor and a room with no men in it |
| Prenatal & Postnatal | Low | Comfortable pregnancy, breathing, postnatal rebuilding | Expecting mothers with doctor's clearance, and mothers cleared to restart after delivery |
| Meditation & Pranayama | Very low | Sleep, stress, focus, breath control | Anyone who cannot switch off at night, or who wants breathwork without a physical class |
| Kids Yoga | Moderate, playful | Concentration, posture, screen-time balance | Children aged 7–14, especially through exam months |
| Senior & Chair Yoga | Very low | Joint mobility, balance, gentle daily movement | Students over 60, and anyone who cannot get down to the floor comfortably |
| Corporate Yoga | Adjustable | Desk posture, neck and back strain, team wellness | Companies in Jaipur running on-site, online or workshop-format sessions |
| Online & Home Yoga | Adjustable | Privacy, convenience, one-to-one attention | People who cannot reach the studio, new mothers, and students outside Jaipur |
Don't overthink it. Come to the 6:00 AM or 5:00 PM hatha batch for your free trial, tell Ritika what you are hoping to change, and she will tell you honestly whether that batch or a different one is the right home for you. Choosing on a mat takes five minutes; choosing on a website takes a week.
Before you join
Start with hatha yoga. It is the slowest of our group batches, every posture is demonstrated before you attempt it, and Ritika gives you an easier version of anything that does not work for your body yet. Most students at Karma Yoga begin here and many never leave.
Yes. Your monthly membership is for the studio, not for one batch, so you can move between hatha, power yoga, meditation and the ladies-only slot as your schedule or your goals change. Just tell Ritika which batch you are moving to so she can plan the room.
Yes. The 10:00 to 11:00 AM batch, Monday to Saturday, is women-only and taught by Ritika Khandelwal, a female instructor. Prenatal students join a separate slot at 11:15 AM on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
Group batches are kept small — usually eight to twelve people — so that Ritika can walk the room and correct posture by hand rather than calling instructions from the front. If a batch fills up she opens the next timing rather than adding more mats.
No. Flexibility is what practice produces, not what it demands. Most people who join cannot touch their toes on day one, and that is the normal starting point rather than a problem.
Yes. The first class is free. Come to any batch that suits your timing, borrow a mat, and decide afterwards. Fees for every class type are published on the fees page, so you can check them before you visit.
