Yoga Classes in Mansarovar, Jaipur: Timings, Fees & What to Expect in Your First Class
The people who message about yoga classes in Mansarovar almost never ask about yoga. They ask whether they are too stiff, too old, too heavy or too out of practice, and whether everyone will be watching. This is the answer to all of that, plus the practical things — timings, fees, what to wear, what to eat — so that nothing about your first class is a surprise except how quickly the hour goes.
Where are the yoga classes in Mansarovar?
Mansarovar is large enough that “in Mansarovar” can mean a forty-minute journey, so the first thing to establish is walking distance. Karma Yoga runs from 112/187, Thadi Market, Agarwal Farm, Jhalana Chhod — a residential lane rather than a commercial strip, which is why the room is quiet at 6:00 AM.
From most of Agarwal Farm it is a walk. From Shipra Path, SFS Mansarovar, Madhyam Marg and Dadu Dayal Nagar it is a short two-wheeler ride, and from Gopalpura Bypass or Pratap Nagar it is ten to fifteen minutes outside peak traffic. Written directions, the map and a get-directions link are on the contact page, and the local page for yoga classes in Mansarovar has more about the area, including the Agarwal Farm catchment specifically.
Whichever studio you end up choosing, apply this test before you commit to a month: can you get there on a bad morning? Distance, not motivation, is what ends most people's yoga.
What are the timings, and which batch should I pick?
Classes run Monday to Saturday in two blocks — mornings from 6:00 AM and evenings from 5:00 PM. Sunday is a rest day. Six batches run in total, and Ritika teaches every one of them herself, which is the reason the numbers stay at eight to twelve rather than forty.
| Time | Batch | Days | Who it suits |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6:00 – 7:00 AM | Mon–Sat | Beginners and anyone practising before work | |
| 7:15 – 8:15 AM | Mon, Wed, Fri | Students wanting a higher-intensity session | |
| 10:00 – 11:00 AM | Mon–Sat | Women who prefer a women-only room | |
| 11:15 AM – 12:00 PM | Tue, Thu, Sat | Pregnancy, with a doctor's clearance | |
| 5:00 – 6:00 PM | Mon–Sat | Anyone coming back from work or college | |
| 6:30 – 7:30 PM | Mon–Fri | Breathwork students, and children aged 7–14 |
The full weekly grid, including which batches run on Saturday, is on the schedule page. Choose the slot you can attend on your worst week rather than your best one: the 6:00 AM plan made on a Sunday evening has a poor survival rate, and an evening batch you actually reach is worth far more than a morning one you keep missing.
Most beginners start in hatha yoga, at either 6:00 AM or 5:00 PM. Women who would rather practise in a women-only room take the 10:00 AM ladies-only batch, which is the one that fills first. If you are pregnant, the prenatal batch needs written clearance from your doctor before you join. If travelling is the problem, home and online sessions are arranged individually.
What do yoga classes in Mansarovar cost?
Across Jaipur, group yoga runs from about ₹500 a month for a large park or community class to around ₹6,000 a month at a premium studio. A neighbourhood studio batch in Mansarovar with props, a qualified teacher and real posture correction usually sits between ₹1,200 and ₹3,000 a month.
Private one-to-one sessions are typically ₹800 to ₹1,200 an hour, more if the teacher travels to you. Online classes are cheapest at roughly ₹333 to ₹999 a month, with the honest caveat that most people stop within six weeks when nobody is watching them.
Almost nobody in Jaipur publishes any of this, which is why choosing a class involves three phone calls before you learn a number. We publish ours on the fees page, and the market-wide picture — what drives the differences and what to check before you pay anybody — is in the 2026 Jaipur price guide.

What should I wear and bring to a yoga class?
Loose cotton clothes you can bend and sit cross-legged in. A kurta with leggings, a salwar kameez without a heavy dupatta, or a t-shirt with track pants are all completely normal here — nobody arrives in matching activewear and nobody notices what you wear after the first two minutes.
Bring
- Loose clothes you can move in
- A water bottle
- A small towel
- Your own mat if you prefer one — studio mats are provided and cleaned between batches
- Any doctor's note or report, if you are joining with a health condition
Leave at home
- Jeans and anything with a tight waistband
- Long dupattas — they end up under a knee
- Heavy jewellery, watches and bangles
- Strong perfume — the room is small and shared
- Socks and shoes, which come off at the door
Should I eat before a yoga class?
Practise on a reasonably empty stomach: two hours after a light meal, three to four after a full one. Twisting, folding and lying on your front all become unpleasant on a full stomach, and that is the whole reason for the rule.
For a 6:00 AM class, most students have nothing except water. If you feel light-headed without something, a few soaked almonds or half a banana forty minutes beforehand is plenty. Drink water before and after class rather than during it, and be sensible about this in a Jaipur May — the studio is not air-conditioned but it is shaded and the fans run.
What actually happens in the first sixty minutes?
Nothing dramatic. You arrive five or ten minutes early, tell Ritika about anything she needs to know, take a mat and sit down. Nobody is asked to introduce themselves and nobody is called out.
| Minutes | What happens | What is expected of you |
|---|---|---|
| 0 – 5 | Settling, seated breathing, a short chant if the batch does one | Sit however is comfortable, on a block if the floor is hard on your hips |
| 5 – 15 | Joint mobilisation — neck, shoulders, wrists, hips, ankles | Move gently. This is where stiff mornings get sorted out |
| 15 – 25 | Surya Namaskar, slowed down and broken into parts for new students | Follow along and stop whenever you want. Two rounds is fine on day one |
| 25 – 45 | Standing and floor asanas, each demonstrated then adjusted individually | Take the easier version offered. Everyone is given one |
| 45 – 52 | Pranayama — usually slow diaphragmatic breathing and anulom vilom | Just breathe. Technique is corrected over weeks, not on day one |
| 52 – 60 | Shavasana, lights low, bolster under the knees if you want one | Lie still. Several people fall asleep in their first week |
You will probably be mildly sore the next day in places you did not expect — often the outer hips and the upper back. That is normal, it settles within a week, and it is not a sign that you did anything wrong. Sharp pain during a posture is different: come out of it and say so.
Will I be the stiffest person in the room?
Possibly, and it does not matter in the slightest. Flexibility is a result of practice, not a prerequisite for it, and a batch of ten always contains at least three people who cannot reach past their knees.
What a small batch changes is that you are given your own version of a posture instead of being left to copy someone. A block under the hand, a strap around the foot, a chair instead of the floor, a bent knee where the book says straight — these are not consolation prizes, they are how the posture is supposed to be taught to your body.
The other worry, particularly from women joining alone, is who else is in the room. Ritika is a female instructor and the 10:00 AM batch is women-only; more on why that matters to a lot of students in the piece on ladies-only classes.
What if I have back pain, PCOS or high blood pressure?
Tell the teacher before class, not during it. In almost every case you join a normal batch and get a modified version of about four postures — that is all it takes. Yoga here is complementary to whatever your doctor has advised, and never a replacement for it.
Some things do need a medical opinion first: back pain that travels below the knee, numbness or weakness in a limb, pain that followed a fall, uncontrolled blood pressure, a recent surgery, or a pregnancy without clearance. Read the relevant page before you come — back pain, PCOS and PCOD, knee pain, thyroid or diabetes and blood pressure — and bring the doctor's advice with you. The full list is on the yoga for health hub.
How soon will I notice anything?
Sleep usually changes first, often within two weeks, and it is the change students mention before any other. Morning stiffness tends to ease around weeks three and four. Strength, balance and the way a whole working day feels take eight to twelve weeks of practising four or five times a week.
Nothing about that timeline is impressive enough to put on a poster, which is precisely why it is worth stating. Anyone promising a transformation in ten days is selling something. The variable that decides your result is not the style of yoga or the studio — it is how many times you show up in a month.
More on what regular practice does and does not change is on the benefits of yoga page, and what other students in Mansarovar say is on the reviews page.
What should I do after the first class?
Book the second one. Almost everybody enjoys their first class; the useful decision is whether you will come back on Thursday when it is raining. Fix a batch, tell somebody at home you have joined, and give it three weeks before you judge it.
If it is not right — wrong time, wrong distance, wrong style — say so plainly. Ritika will tell you honestly which of the other batches suits you better, including the occasions when the honest answer is a studio nearer your house. There are more practical answers on the FAQ page, and you can see the room itself in the gallery.

Questions
First-class FAQs
Do I need to be flexible to join a yoga class?
No, and this is the single most common reason people delay joining. Flexibility is an outcome of practice, not a requirement for it. In a beginners' batch you will meet people who cannot reach past their knees, and every posture has an easier version with a block, a strap or a chair.
What should I wear to my first yoga class in Jaipur?
Loose cotton clothes you can bend and sit cross-legged in. A kurta with leggings, a salwar kameez without a heavy dupatta, or a t-shirt with track pants are all completely normal. Avoid jeans, tight waistbands, long dupattas and anything that needs adjusting. You practise barefoot, so socks are not needed.
Should I eat before a yoga class?
Practise on a reasonably empty stomach. Leave two hours after a light meal and three to four hours after a full one. For a 6:00 AM class, most students have nothing beyond water, or a few soaked almonds or half a banana if they feel faint without it. Drink water before and after rather than during.
What are the yoga class timings in Mansarovar?
At Karma Yoga, batches run Monday to Saturday: 6:00 to 7:00 AM hatha yoga, 7:15 to 8:15 AM power yoga on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10:00 to 11:00 AM ladies-only, 11:15 AM to 12:00 PM prenatal and postnatal on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, 5:00 to 6:00 PM hatha yoga, and 6:30 PM meditation and pranayama or kids yoga. Sunday is a rest day.

Across Jaipur, group yoga runs roughly ₹500 to ₹6,000 a month. A small neighbourhood studio batch in Mansarovar with props and posture correction typically sits between ₹1,200 and ₹3,000 a month, private one-to-one sessions between ₹800 and ₹1,200 an hour, and online classes between ₹333 and ₹999 a month.
Karma Yoga publishes its own rates openly on the fees page.
Is the first yoga class free at Karma Yoga?
Yes. The first class is free in any batch, with no card, no sign-up and no obligation to continue. Message on WhatsApp beforehand so Ritika knows to expect you and can confirm which batch has space that day.
Can I join a yoga class if I have back pain or another health condition?
Usually yes, with your doctor's approval and provided you tell the teacher before class. You join a normal batch and receive a modified version of about four postures. Some symptoms need medical assessment first, including pain travelling below the knee, numbness or weakness in a limb, or pain that followed a fall.
How soon will I notice a difference after starting yoga?

Strength, balance and any change in how a working day feels take eight to twelve weeks of practising four or five times a week.
